Dulcie F. Flaharty, Co-Vice Chair

Montgomery County Lands Trust

Dulcie is Executive Director of Montgomery County Lands Trust, a position she has held since the establishment of that organization in 1993. Through her work with MCLT, a non-profit conservancy which helps preserve and connect the natural areas, farmland and neighborhood green spaces of Montgomery County, she focuses attention on both public and private conservation. The Lands Trust presently safeguards over 2,200 acres of conservation easements. In addition to developing educational programs such as Montgomery County Green Futures, which bring real solutions and technical answers directly into communities throughout Montgomery County, Dulcie has a strong interest in establishing productive and creative partnerships that preserve the scenic character of our county while addressing the challenges of sprawl development. Montgomery County Lands Trust, under her direction, played a pivotal role in the 2003 victory of the Montgomery County $150 million Green Fields/Green Towns Referendum, implementing a successful voter education and outreach program that reached over 74,000 households. Dulcie is a member of the Montgomery County Planning Commission, member of the board of directors of Save Our Land, Save Our Towns, Inc. and remains active with the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association.
