The GreenSpace Alliance region includes a wealth of places important and treasured for their environmental, agricultural, historic and scenic attributes. Such places draw and help retain businesses and provide opportunities for tourism, a major economic asset. The region includes the City of Philadelphia, renowned among other things for hosting the most historic square mile in America, enhanced by natural lands in the vicinity that hearken to earlier days. Some of the country’s best farmland, most beautiful landscapes and revered historic treasures are found in the GreenSpace Alliance region but are at risk of being degraded or lost in the absence of timely and effective action.
